Let me share one of my secrets. Ok so maybe not a secret-secret, but I’ve never talked about it here on the blog before so it is kind of a secret ;) Until now that is… Ever wondered where I’ve learned modern hand lettering, faux calligraphy, iPad lettering and so on?
Of course I’ve watched a ton of youtube videos and followed a bunch of creative people on Instagram. But there’s often no red thread when going for that approach, and although I’ve learned a lot, it takes extra time and effort. And as you know I love being efficient.
And for me, that has been to take a whole bunch of online classes over at Skillshare.com
So, what is this Skillshare?
If you haven’t heard of it before it’s sort of Etsy for online classes. Hrm, maybe not the best comparison. But in essence, it’s a place where you can find classes created by experts in their industry. And not just some classes, there are more than 15,000 different classes you get access to when you sign up! There are classes for all types of creative areas – hand lettering, drawing, painting, pattern creation… anything you’re curious to know more about. And it’s not only creative stuff, there are classes on cooking, marketing, productivity and so on. There’s even a class on Bullet Journaling :)
It’s super simple to find interesting classes – you either do a search for a topic you’re interested in or go via the browse function. You watch a short trailer to see if the class seems interesting and you jive with the teacher. If you wanna take the class you simply enroll and get access to the videos, additional files the teacher might share + you get access to the community for that specific class. In the community everyone can share what they’ve created as part of taking this class and it’s super inspiring to see what everyone else has been doing. Sometimes the teacher will go through the community and comment on the work of us students which is pretty amazing!
If you sign up in August you get two months FREE to test run it and see what you think. You can take a whole lot of classes in two months ;) Normally you get just one month, so if you’re curious I’d really sign up this month. I’ve recommended Skillshare since I found and fell in love with it, and now that you get two months try out period, for free, it really is a no-brainer.
Click on any link below, or this one, to get access to the two-month-free-trial.
And if you want to get your hands on the free printable you’ll find it in the Tribe Library (if you don’t have access simply head on over here to sign-up and get access to this one and all other freebies as well).
My Favorite Classes
I thought it could be neat to also share some of my favorite Skillshare classes + some that I haven’t taken yet but am super stoked to go through soon. I also created this list as a free printable (just click here or on the photos to download it).
