I constantly doodle ideas that I get for headers, dividers, hand lettering styles and so on because I probably won’t remember them when I’m creating a new collection, daily and so on. Part of the fun with the bullet journal is to ’decorate’ it, to make it pretty and make it your own. And I like to come up with new ideas, new ways to write things or decorate my collections, hence my need for some ’Visual Inspiration Collections’.
I get a whole lot of inspiration and ideas from other bullet journals that I save on my Pinterest boards. I also get ideas from many other places like work, reading magazines, or just plain old sitting down with a blank piece of paper in front of me and start doodling.
My process is that I start with doodling a rough sketch in a separate notebook, a notebook I have only for scribbling stuff in. This way I feel free to try a lot of different styles. Or to try things that I’m not quite sure will look any good.
Then when I’ve filled out a page or two I migrate the doodles into my bullet journal. I only migrate the ones I like, of course :)
The first time I migrated my doodles I put them on the next empty spread that was available in my bullet journal. Then I realized I’d rather keep them all collected in one section, so now I draw them at the very end of my BuJo. That way I don’t have to decide now how many spreads I think I’ll be able to fill, I just go from the back and move forward, one spread at a time.
MORE CREATIVE INSPIRATION
If you want to get some more creative inspiration you should check out this page where I’ve collected all my blog posts that has to do with creativeness.
How about you?
Do you doodle layouts, fonts, design elements that you see and/or come up with? Do you have a collection for it? Or maybe a Pinterest board? I’d love to see them so feel free to share a link in the comments below.
Hope you’re having an awesome day!
Love + Hugs,
Eva
Hello. What notebook are you using in your “planner doodle inspiration” post? The pages appear much brighter than my Leuchturm 1917. Thank you!
Hi Dyan, I have a Leuchtturm 1917 as well. It looks brighter than it actually is because I edit my photos that way. I love the bright, airy feeling. Hope that helps :)
